The Fish Assignment
An ocean contains:
- Some number of big fish
- One medium-sized fish (that's you!)
- Some number of little fish, and
- Seaweed.
You play the role of the medium-sized fish. The big fish will eat you if they can catch you (by landing on the same "square" that you are on), but they ignore the little fish. You can eat the little fish by landing on them, but they do their best to get away. Seaweed, which comes in vertical strands, just gets in the way; you can't swim through it.
The game ends when you are eaten by a big fish (and lose), or you eat enough little fish (and win).
This "game" is not well defined. How do fish move? Are smaller fish faster than bigger fish? Can fish "see through" seaweed? These details, and many others, are up to you. If you can make this general idea into a game that's interesting and fun to play, so much the better.
